She was born on January 9, 1935, in Silver City, NM, the daughter of James A and Nettie (Larremore) Reed. Peggie Lorrainne Knapp January 9, 1935 - October 31, 2022 Peggie L Knapp, 87 of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully Monday, October 31, 2022, at Desert Peaks Assisted Living. She was born on January 9, 1935, in Silver City, NM, the daughter of James A and Nettie (Larremore) Reed. Peggie had a varied professional career working in numerous banks, real estate, and the woman's department at Dillard's. Her passions included playing Bridge, traveling the world over, and spending time at the beach collecting shells. Peggie is survived by her three children: Peggy Louise (Jeff) Bryan, Robert Michael (Frankie) Miller, LW Skip (Jana) Miller, and two stepchildren Thomas Edward (Beth) Knapp, Charles Ira (Cindy) Knapp. Eight grandchildren: Timothy (Heather) Miller, Joshua (Kelly) Miller, Tiffany (Ryan) Wenzel, Erin (Aaron) Miller, Cory (Shannan) Miller, Amanda (Jared) Lackey, Madison Miller, Morgan (Miguel) Miller, Jaison (Cathy) Bryan and numerous great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. She had a particularly special relationship with her niece, Lori Nell Reed. Peggie is preceded in death by her husband CE Knapp, her parents James A and Nettie Reed, siblings: Virgil, Carrie, Mabel Francis, Melvin (Skeet), Sam, Clyde, and Lloyd (Jiggs). The family would like to express their gratitude to Peggie's neighbors Betty, Dave and Midge for their many acts of kindness and loyal friendship throughout the years. Graveside service is scheduled at Masonic Cemetery on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 beginning at 12:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Leukemia Foundation in her name.
