IN LOVING MEMORY It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and lifelong resident of Las Cruces, PETER ISMAEL MANTEROLA, age 80 on November 23, 2020 after a long battle with diabetes. IN LOVING MEMORY It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and lifelong resident of Las Cruces, PETER ISMAEL MANTEROLA, age 80 on November 23, 2020 after a long battle with diabetes. He was born in Las Cruces to Arnulfo and Emilia Manterola, on June 3, 1940 and was the youngest of 6 children. He was married to Cecilia Manterola, and is survived by his five children; Elaine Manterola (Gloria Marrujo), Cynthia Gomez (Daniel Gomez), Susan Manterola, Pamela Barela, and Peter Manterola (Anna Manterola). Also, six grandchildren; Ashlyn Barela, Brittney Barela, Laurissa Barela, Cameron Manterola, Skye Manterola, and Kevin Gomez. He was a devoted father who worked countless hours to provide for his family. He worked 38 years at White Sands Missile Range, and was very proud of his contributions to the world's premiere research, development, test, and evaluation facility for the Department of Defense. He instilled a strong work-ethic in his children, who have all followed in his successful footsteps. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am with rosary at 10:30 am and mass at 11:00 am, burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
