Philip Bradley Farwell, 74, of Las Cruces entered eternal life on December 17, 2011. Philip was born on October 21, 1937 in Ventura, CA to William and Laura Farwell. He spent the early years of his life in southern California before joining the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He was stationed Keesler Air Force Base and later transferred to Chenault Air Force Base in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It was there that Philip met the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Barbara. They were married on May 30, 1958. Shortly after he relocated back to California and was blessed with two children. Years later he moved along with his family to Maryland where he was employed by Goddard Space Flight Center. In 1992, Philip moved to Las Cruces along with his family. He was employed as an engineer at NASA White Sands Complex up until the time of his passing. Philip was a soft spoken, caring and generous man who befriended everyone who had the pleasure of coming into his life. In his free time he enjoyed playing poker, hunting and travel. He is survived by his wife Barbara Farwell, brothers William Farwell, Richard Farwell and Frank Farwell, his grandchildren Kenneth Page, Barbara Lattion and Timothy Page, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Farwell, as well as his children Laura Page and Michael Farwell. A visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 5-7 PM. A rosary will follow at 7 PM the same evening also at Getz Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be given at 10 AM Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Ricardo Bauza officiating. Cremation will follow mass. PDF Printable Version
