Philmore "Jack" J, Miller, our beloved husband and father died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008. He was born June 27, 1915 in Kansas City, MO to Jay and Minnie Miller. Philmore "Jack" J, Miller, our beloved husband and father died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008. He was born June 27, 1915 in Kansas City, MO to Jay and Minnie Miller. Jack was a graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City, Mo. After graduation Jack enlisted in the US Army/Air Corp where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service of his country he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the American Service Medal. He then went on to work and retire from Southwest Bell/AT&T Telephone Co, after 35 years of faithful service. His beloved wife Sarah graduated from Las Cruces Union High School in 1938. Together they served the Lutheran Mission in Kansas City before retiring to Las Cruces in 1986 where they joined the Newcomers Club. Jack enjoyed golf, bowling, reading and was an avid writer of poetry. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Sarah of the family home; son Phil Miller and sister Marjorie Allen of Lee Summit, MO. Memorial Services to celebrate Jack's life will be at 5:30 PM on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Marc Rinka of Faith Baptist Church in El Paso, TX officiating with military honors to follow. Burial of his cremains will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
