Priscilla (Pat) Louise Moore Nowlin died of natural causes on July 21, 2018, she was 83 years old. Born in Paulsboro, New Jersey in the height of the great depression, she was the youngest child of Anna and E. Henry Moore. She was a Jersey girl through-and-through; a spitfire, a handful, a force of nature. She was not afraid to say anything, and her humor remained intact even until her last days with us. Pat lived a full and colorful life, residing in cities across the US, notably Virginia Beach, VA; San Diego, CA; Carlin and Wells, NV; and Las Cruces, NM. Over the years she made ends meet through sheer hustle; working as a bartender, a housekeeper, and selling handicrafts. She was a good neighbor, bringing meals to those who were ill, visiting the prison honor camp with her church, and training her dogs to be visitors at nursing homes. She was a passionate steward of her own history, keeping a daily journal throughout her adult life, along with collections of letters, post cards, and a photographic record to rival the Smithsonian. She loved her pets and house plants; sewing, crochet, and beading. She told dirty jokes, and kept her bible on her night stand. She is survived by her four children; Gwyn Hoskins of Thoreau, NM; Patti Little of Sparks, NV; Carl Dean Barber and Mark Barber, both of Missouri; as well as seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She will be missed by many in her extended, step and surrogate families. She is also survived by friend Lloyd Collinson of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, six older siblings, the fathers of her children, and various other ex-husbands.
