RADM Paul K. Arthur (retired), 83 of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, January 31, 2014. He was born to Walter and Frieda Arthur in Kansas City, MO on January 14, 1931. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves. He graduated in electrical engineering in 1956 from Purdue University where he met the love of his life, his wife, Joy. Paul and Joy later moved to Las Cruces, NM where they worked for nearly 50 years at White Sands Missile Range until his retirement as the Technical Director, and their induction together into the WSMR Hall of Fame. He was an avid booster of Purdue engineering and NMSU athletics and engineering, and a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed running, backpacking, and jazz, but his greatest love was his family. Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joy Arthur, son, Greg V. Arthur and wife, Lori, of Oakland, CA, and daughter Lia Brodnax and husband, Edward, of Los Alamos, NM. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Scialla, his brother, Melvyn Arthur, and his four loving grandchildren, Noah Arthur, and Kathleen, Erin and John Brodnax. Admiral Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Christine Mitchell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 10:00 am, burial to follow with military honors at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
