He graduated from Mayfield High School in 1971. A long-time resident of Las Cruces, he worked at White Sands Missile Range Golf Course for 22 years. Richard L. Swain, 52, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away Friday evening, May 27, 2005. He was born September 17, 1952, in Phoenix, AZ to Utah Swain and Christine Cole. He graduated from Mayfield High School in 1971. A long-time resident of Las Cruces, he worked at White Sands Missile Range Golf Course for 22 years. His current position was as an Equipment Engineer with the Roads and Grounds department. He was very fond of the outdoors and sports, in particular, fishing and golf. He was very active with his grandchildren whom he loved very much and was lovingly called "Grandpa Richard". Richard had a big heart with a great capacity for love willing to help others any way he could. Richard is survived by his loving wife Linda K. Swain of the family home; his parents Utah and Betsy Swain of Las Cruces; three stepchildren
