Ruthie (Leona) Davis, 98, of Las Cruces, NM died October 31, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Las Cruces, NM. She was born March 16, 1916 in Emory, TX to Isaac and Mary (Fuston) Prather along with three sisters and four brothers. The family moved to Snyder, TX when she was a young child. Leona married Charlie B. Davis on October 31, 1936 in Snyder, TX and they had two children...
Ruthie (Leona) Davis, 98, of Las Cruces, NM died October 31, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Las Cruces, NM. She was born March 16, 1916 in Emory, TX to Isaac and Mary (Fuston) Prather along with three sisters and four brothers. The family moved to Snyder, TX when she was a young child. Leona married Charlie B. Davis on October 31, 1936 in Snyder, TX and they had two children, Ann Kerr and Charles Davis. She enjoyed landscape painting, quilting and trout fishing. She was also a member of First Baptist in Las Cruces. Leona is survived by her son Charles Davis (Pat), 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie B. Davis in April 1995, her daughter Ann Kerr in October 1995, a great grandson in 1999 and all of her brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be in Snyder, Texas at a later date.
