Rafaela Telles Diaz

Rafaela T. Diaz, 93, was born December 23, 1918 in Las Cruces, NM to Evangelisto Telles and Carmen Lucero., Rafaela left this world peacefully in her home May 29, 2012. Chela, as she fondly known as, was a strong-willed independent woman who enjoyed crocheting, reading, dancing, and watching certain television programs. She loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren as she felt very blessed to have so many. Chela was fortunate to live a long great life under the care of her grandson Thomas M. Diaz. She is survived by her two daughters Gloria Madrid and her husband Luis Madrid Sr. of Las Cruces, NM, and Rosario (Rosie) Marquez of Las Cruces NM, and sister Corinne T. Lopez of Las Cruces, NM , many nieces and nephews , along with 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Rafaela was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lamberto G. Diaz, and her daughter Ernestine T. Diaz; her brother Elfego L.Telles Sr.; her sisters Sofia T. Quintanilla and Juanita Telles all of Las Cruces,NM and son-in-law Arturo Marquez of Alamogordo, NM. My Love, My Life, Mi Corazon. I miss you soooo much. I defended you; I spoke for you, and stood by your side all my life. I was able to embrace you one last time till your dying breath. We walked a long journey together and I will always love you. I will see you on the other side my beloved. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 5 to 7:00 pm followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm at Getz funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
