Ramon Talamantes Lopez, 72, of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 21, 1940 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico to Dolores and Consuelo T. Lopez. Ramon worked for Ray Ward & Sons and Tatch Construction and was very proud to be a Laborer and a member of the Local Union #16. He was a member of the Catholic Church and taught his family the value of hard work. Ramon will be missed by all that new and loved him. Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Emilia Lopez; his sons, Louis Lopez (Martha), Armando A. Lopez (Sheryl), Ramon A. Lopez Jr. (Rosana); his daughters, Lydia Martinez (Ronald), Suzanne Lopez, Leticia Sanchez (Jeremy); brother, Alfonzo Lopez (Eva), and sister, Mary Alatorre. He is also survived by 12 grand children, Valerie and Ronald Martinez Jr., Amelia, Louis Jr., and Lawrence Lopez, Santana and Justin Lopez, Adalida, Adriana, and Ramon Lopez III, Andy Reyes, and Lexandria Sanchez; and 4 great grand children. Ramon was preceded in death by his mother Consuelo Lopez; his father Dolores Lopez; his brothers Salvador, Alfredo, Mario, Oscar, and Raul; his sisters Maggie and Luzelena; and by a grandson Luther Garcia Lopez. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Of Purification in Dona Ana with Fr. Miguel Macaya officiating. The rite of committal for Ramon will be given at the Dona Ana Cemetery. Paul bearers will be Joseph Johnson, David Johnson, Ramon Lopez Jr. III, Michael Garcia Jr., Anthony Garcia and Andrew Garcia.
