She was born to Candelaria Beltran Avalos on August 1, 1960, in Las Cruces, N.M. She was simply known as "Mona" to her family and friends and has left a lasting impression on those she crossed paths...

It is with broken hearts we announce our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Dear Friend Ramona Avalos passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 23, 2021, in Las Cruces, N.M. She was born to Candelaria Beltran Avalos on August 1, 1960, in Las Cruces, N.M. She was simply known as "Mona" to her family and friends and has left a lasting impression on those she crossed paths with her. She will be remembered for having a heart of gold, for her loyalty, and friendship. She was a truly happy soul with a free spirit. Ramona is survived by one son Juan Diego Lara (Kristine) and his sister Cheyenne Faith Ceballos-Nolan (Austin) daughter of Cesar and Teresa Ceballos. Also surviving Ramona are three sisters Nellie Hernandez (Sal), Mary Jane Avalos and Sylvia Evaro and one brother Antonio Avalos. She was blessed with three grandchildren Juan Diego Flores-Lara (Brandie), Bianey Marie Flores (Mike) and Kandie Divine Lara. She had five great grandchildren, Kayden, Kaylee, Kaylani, Layla and Little Mikey. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her extended families The Valenzuela's, Benavidez-Gonzales, Figueroa, and Garcia's. She is preceded in death by her mother Candelaria Beltran Avalos, and one brother Guadalupe Avalos. Pallbearers will be, Juan Diego Lara, Juan Diego Flores-Lara, Gustavo Daniel Soto, Gustavo Manuel Soto, Joseph Hernandez, and Cheyenne Faith Ceballos-Nolan. Honorary pallbearers will be Margie Valenzuela, Chris & Sabrina Benavidez-Gonzales, Victor Figueroa, and Valerie Garcia. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on September 2, 2021, at Getz funeral home, followed by a rosary at 3 p.m. At Ramona's request cremation will follow, and she will be laid to rest with her mother later.
