Refugio Julian Chavez (81) and his beloved wife Ramona R Chavez (78) gained their wings to heaven on November 22nd, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center. As a final wish, after their 45 beautiful years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, they both gained their wings together holding each other's hand. Julian was born July 4th, 1940, in Las Palomas, NM. Ramona was born May 1st, 1943, in Las Cruces, NM. They are survived by their 2 loving sons Michael Chavez (wife Becky) and David Chavez (wife Jessica). Julian is also survived by his sister Nellie Jackson. Ramona is survived by her brother Poncho Rincon. Julian and Ramona are also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren whom they loved with all their heart. They are also survived by several nieces and nephews who also held a special place in their hearts. Their favorite past times and hobbies included spending time with all their family enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Julian and Ramona's services will be held December 8th, 2021, in Las Cruces, NM. Viewing to begin at 5pm with Rosary to follow at 6pm at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Mass to begin Thursday December 9th, 2021, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Purification Church followed by burial services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Rios, Eddie Caballero, Ruben Caballero, Dominic Molina, Javier Molina and Brandon Chavez.
