Randolfo Rascon, 95, passed away peacefully early morning at his home on January 23, 2012. He was born on October 21,1916 and grew up in Babispe, Sonora, Mexico. Working right after grade school he found his passion being a mechanic. While working on the road as a heavy diesel mechanic he found his love, Rebeca, in Tubutama, Sonora, Mexico. Two months later they married. Traveling to Venezuela, Guatemala, Panama, and finally settling in the United States with his Family. They moved to Las Cruces in 1970 and began their journey with their six loving children. He was a man of great character known for his kindness, generosity, patience, joyfulness, and honor. He was very dedicated to his family and work, always striving to give them the best. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He is our hero and will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. He is survived by his children; sons Jorge Rascon and spouse Gloria of Dallas, TX and Danny Rascon and wife Debbie of Las Cruces; daughters Gloria Medina and husband Carlos of Chipley, FL. Alicia McCarty and husband Carl of Jacksonville, Fl, Rebecca Aguilar and Concha Gray both of Las Cruces. As well as his 14 grandchildren; Alicia Aguilar-Hinkle, Maria Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar Jr., Michelle Rascon-Aragon, Ruby Rascon, Michael Rascon, Jorge Rascon Jr., Anagabriela Medina, Monica Dunivan, Benton Gray, Nicholas Rascon, Samantha Rascon, Aaron McCarty, Carl McCarty Jr., and by his 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 17 brothers and sisters, and by his wife. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel, with a prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. A funeral mass to celebrate his life is at Our Lady of Purification Church in Dona Ana at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 with Fr. Miguel Macaya officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
