Heaven gained another angel when Randy Lee Stadjuhar passed away on January 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 10, 1957 in Bayard NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Stadjuhar, and his father-in-law William ‘Bill' Stirman. Rudy, as he was fondly known, started working in the heating and cooling business in high school. He went to Refrigeration School in Roswell and then started Stadjuhar Heating and Cooling. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or engineer a solution for. He was a master of all trades. His love of the outdoors included riding his four wheeler and hunting. He enjoyed both rifle and bow hunting. Family and friends have wonderful memories of going hunting with him. He had also worked with Search and Rescue and been a volunteer Firefighter. In recent years Randy and Laura were able to go western dancing often. On most Friday nights they could be found dancing the night away as they followed some of their favorite bands. They danced their way through West Texas, New Mexico and even on cruises in the Caribbean to find the "old country music" he loved so much. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. If you spent any time at all with Rudy, you knew you had a friend for life. His unmistakable laugh, kind heart and willingness to always help a friend will be greatly missed. As many friends have commented, he was a true western gentleman. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura, of over 30 years, son Colby Stadjuhar of Las Cruces NM; daughter Georganna Stadjuhar, Chicago IL; his mother, Carrie Stadjuhar; brother, Kevin Stadjuhar; sister Cheryl Ray (Larry); brother-in-law Logan Stirman (Judy) and mother-in-law Kay Stirman, along with nieces and nephews: Tara Stadjuhar, John Stadjuhar, Matthew Ray, Michelle Ray, James Stirman and Lauren Stirman. He is also survived by his special brothers Billy Salopek, Michael Salopek and Patrick Tingen who were great friends that walked through this journey with Randy from the beginning. Special thanks to Dr. Kent Nelson for is loving care for Randy beyond measure. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayo Clinic, Attn: Dept of Development, 200 First St SW, Rochester MN 55905 in Randy's memory.
