Our beloved pastor's wife, beloved mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, Raquel " Rachel" S - Funes, of Las Cruces was the rock that kept her children, siblings, and beloved grandchildren grounded left to her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, December 12, 2021. She was born September 13, 1957 in las cruces to Ernesto M. Flores and Lucy Salas. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Las Cruces, High. She lived in Los Angeles, CA and served at Centro Evangelistco Asambleas de Dios from 1993-1996. In 1997 she returned home to Las cruces, where she served at Templo Monte de Sion from 1997 to present. She retired from Helweg & Farmer bus transportation after 15 years of driving for the special needs children. Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 30 years Rev. Efrain H. Funes, their son Jose F. Ledesma, her brother Ernesto S. Flores, sister Veronica Salas and her companion Oscar G. Padilla all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include her beloved 8 grandchildren, Isaiah Anthony Esparza, Sergio "Izzy", Joshua Daniel, Stormy Raquel, Ismael Jose, Isenia Marie, Lliyah Rae & Lawrence James Ledesma. Also 3 great-grandchildren Cienna Amira, Jayden Joshua Ledesma., and Athena Lorenda Proveaux, As well as numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews. Visitation for Raquel "Rachel" will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow immediately thereafter the Central District Assemblies of God Executive Pastors will officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Hillcrest memorial gardens cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Service Information
