Ray Goodin, 79 of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Friday February 3, 2012 at Memorial medical Center with his devoted family by his side. Ray was born on May 27, 1932 in Colbert, Oklahoma Willie Melvin and Evie Elizabeth Goodin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Jo Ann Marie Goodin, three sisters and one brother. Ray Goodin, 79 of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Friday February 3, 2012 at Memorial medical Center with his devoted family by his side. Ray was born on May 27, 1932 in Colbert, Oklahoma Willie Melvin and Evie Elizabeth Goodin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Jo Ann Marie Goodin, three sisters and one brother. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Debbie and chuck Brizzee, Jo Beth and Lee Watson, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his long companion Doris Bowden and his lifelong friend Arnold McMillan. Also surviving him are his brother Bill Goodin Jr. and Sister Pat Cowley. Ray was an extraordinary Man who was loved and admired by all. He was caring and considerate of others. His smile would light up a room and would warm your heart. Ray served in the U. S. Navy as a young man. He was in Korean Veteran and a successful business owner for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, loved fishing and camping. His other passions included bowling, square dancing and dancing in the Senior Olympics. He valued the importance of friendship. Meeting up with an old friend for a cup of coffee was something Ray would look forward too. He was a wise man who understood that family, friendship and laughter were key to living a fulfilled life. He was a prince among men. A visitation will be held on February 7, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Getz Funeral Home.
