Raymond Martinez was not only a beloved husband but also a Neno, uncle, and friend to those who knew him. Raymond was born in Deming, NM on August 2, 1954 but resided in Las Cruces, NM all his life. He passed away on March 26, 2013 peacefully. He spent his career with New Mexico State University for the last 39 years. He married Gloria Madrid on December 22, 1977 in Las Cruces, NM....
Raymond Martinez was not only a beloved husband but also a Neno, uncle, and friend to those who knew him. Raymond was born in Deming, NM on August 2, 1954 but resided in Las Cruces, NM all his life. He passed away on March 26, 2013 peacefully. He spent his career with New Mexico State University for the last 39 years. He married Gloria Madrid on December 22, 1977 in Las Cruces, NM. They were happily married for over 36 years. He loved motorcycles, going to casinos and going deer hunting with his best friend Keith and his son. He also loved his niece Lisa and nephew Michael like his own children, who he also baptized at birth. He was a kind, wonderful and a loving husband. He touched many people and made many friends in his life. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jose and Braulia Martinez; his sister Yvonne Martinez. He is survived by his wife Gloria Martinez, of Las Cruces, sisters Mary Saenz and her husband Enrique, Juanita Herrera and her husband Joe, Enedina Martinez and companion Rosa Apodaca, and Emma Martinez; Brothers Angel Martinez and his wife Erica, Mark Martinez, and his wife Chris. Ray is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews. His family is planning visitation at Getz funeral home at 6pm for visitation and 7 pm rosary on Monday, April 1, 2013. The funeral service is scheduled for 1 pm on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with father Martinez. Concluding service and interment will follow in the Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery where he will lay to rest next to his mother in law and father in law. Serving as casket bearers will be, J.
