Richard E. Beck Sr., 74 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. He was born September 21, 1931 in Washington, DC to Frederick and Helen Beck. He was a Las Cruces resident for about the last 13 years coming from Bowie, Maryland. Richard E. Beck Sr., 74 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. He was born September 21, 1931 in Washington, DC to Frederick and Helen Beck. He was a Las Cruces resident for about the last 13 years coming from Bowie, Maryland. Richard had served in the US Navy and enjoyed all sports. He had been a paper products salesman and most recently retired from Motel 6 as a clerk. Richard was also a member of the Catholic Church. Richard is survived by his wife Carol of the family home; two sons, Rick Beck Jr. and companion Teryl Kinney of Las Cruces, NM; and Jim Beck and wife Rene of Pasadena, Maryland. Two daughters, Jane Grubb and husband Bill and Janet O'Connor all of Bowie, Maryland. One sister Betty Marshall of Rocky Mount, South Carolina and seven grandchildren also survive Richard. Cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service will be held at a later date with burial of his ashes at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, in Cheltenham, Maryland.
