Richard George Duttle of Corpus Christi, Texas died Monday April 11, 2005 after a valiant fight against cancer. Richard was born March 26, 1948 in Oakland, California. Richard held many different jobs in his life among them were cook, driller, welder, tool pusher and eventually Construction Engineer. His work took him to many remote locations in the Western United States, from the North Slope of Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico. Most recently he worked in Baku, Azerbaijan. At long last he fulfilled his dream of owning and sailing his own sailboat, renamed "Richard's Dream" in his honor. Richard was a good Son, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend. He enjoyed a good joke and could be quite the prankster. He enjoyed working in remote locations not because he disliked people it was that he enjoyed the challenge that Mother Nature provided. Richard was a strong man who believed in the Golden Rule and was willing to stand by the underdog without regard for personal consequences. He will be greatly missed by those who survive him.
