Robert B. Tillman, 87, of Las Cruces, died peacefully at his home on May 16, surrounded by his family. Born in Ranger,Texas, raised in La Mesa, New Mexico, he was a life-long resident of the Mesilla Valley. Robert B. Tillman, 87, of Las Cruces, died peacefully at his home on May 16, surrounded by his family. Born in Ranger,Texas, raised in La Mesa, New Mexico, he was a life-long resident of the Mesilla Valley. He is survived by Modell Tillman, his loving wife of 67 years; sisters Nettie Lee Tomlinson, Shirley Stryker and Mary Gillette; son and daughter-in-law Robert Gary and Patty Tillman, daughter Paulette Tillman; six grandchildren, Robert A. Tillman, Heather McMurray, Lauren Tillman, Paul H. Utz, Eric N. Utz and Von F. Utz. He is preceded in death by his parents T.N. Tillman and Fannie Lee Tillman, and seven brothers and sisters. Robert an Modell owned a drapery and upholstery business in Las Cruces for more than 25 years. His loving kindness, support for others and honest values will remain his legacy. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather.
