Robert C Bowden, II, passed away at his home on September 25, 2023. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 25, 1954. Soon after birth, he was adopted by Robert C Bowden and Bernice Rutsaert Bowden and was brought home to live in Las Cruces, NM. Robert graduated from Mayfield High School and later attended Massage Therapy school in Texas. He practiced for several years in Texas, specializing in Sports Medicine.

He fought a tough battle with throat cancer in recent months, continuing to provide companionship to his mother, Bernice Bowden, who survives him. Robert was predeceased by his father Robert, and his sister Judith.

Robert was an excellent cook and a skilled craftsman. He enjoyed working in the yard to create a beautiful space. He also made by hand a shelter/doghouse for his beloved dog Trixie. He enjoyed watching sports on television and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.

Robert is survived by his mother Bernice, her twin sister Beatrice Miller; his cousins Cathy Plasschaert, Judith Bryant, Rose Holgate, Joe Mickelwright, Joe Beuselinck, Mike Rutsaert, Jim Rutsaert, Theresa Schmitz, Marianne Fuessel; and his beloved dog Trixie.



A visitation will be held for Robert on Monday, October 2nd at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces at 5:00 pm. Rosary will follow at 6:00 pm Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 3rd at Holy Cross Church in Las Cruces at 10:00 am. The mass will be available via livestream through getzfuneralhome.com. Burial will be held Thursday, October 5th at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Las Cruces, where Robert will be interred near his father and sister.

Donations may be made in Robert's honor to the Humane Society.
