Robert "Bobby" Rubio, beloved brother, uncle, and godfather, has been lovingly embraced by our Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2008. He was born Oct. 8, 1966 and raised in Las Cruces, NM where he attended NMSU. He earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He resided in Goleta, Calif. where he worked as a Digital Design Engineer with Raytheon Inc. Robert was a Salsa Dance Instructor and had touched many hearts through his passion for dancing. Robert was well loved by his family and friends. His love, presence, and smile will be greatly missed by his survivors: Jessie Rubio of Mesa, AZ; Tobias and Dalilia Rubio, Johnny and Bertha Rubio, Lupita and Wally Borunda, and Ramon Rubio of Las Cruces, NM; Eva and LeRoy Bates, Sylvia and Antonio Soto, Angelica and Robert Vance of El Paso, TX; Veronica and Jeff Sandoval of Los Alamos, NM; Goddaughter Quincee Sandoval and many nephews and nieces. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Raul and Guadalupe Rubio and his brother Raul "Rudy" Rubio Jr. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
