Robert "Dale" Kenny, 73, of Las Cruces, NM died October 17, 2005 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1931 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Dwight and Erma Kenny. Robert "Dale" Kenny, 73, of Las Cruces, NM died October 17, 2005 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1931 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Dwight and Erma Kenny. He served nine years in the United States Army before becoming a police officer in Atkinson, Nebraska. Dale retired in 1984 from the Colorado Correction System with the rank of Captain. After retiring, Dale took up the hobby of Locksmithing. He had a great passion for the outdoors, enjoying camping and fishing the most. Dale was very active with the Lutheran Church, he was a member and Elder at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Truth or Consequences, NM before moving to Las Cruces, NM and becoming a member of Mission Lutheran. He was greatly loved and will be remembered for his service to his family, country, and Lord. He is survived by his wife Laverne Kenny of the family home. Four sons; Robert D. Kenny Jr. of Georgia, Jon Kenny and wife Kim of Tulsa, OK Allen Kenny and wife Brooke of Omaha, NE and David Kenny of Denver, CO three daughters; Johnna Vaumvaugh of Indiana, Deborah Stone of Tulsa, OK and Heidi Haywood of Truth or Consequences, NM. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Kenny, a son Terry Kenny, a sister and one great-grandchild. A visitation will be Thursday October 20, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7PM. Funeral services will be Friday October 21, 2005 at 10AM at the Mission Lutheran Church.
