Robert was born in El Paso, Texas on November 23,1946 to Edward and Grace Berridge. At 74 years of age, he passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 13, 2021, in Las Cruces, NM. Bob and Judy fell in love at 16 and were happily married for 56 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Hatch Valley High School, and he lived his entire life in the valley he loved. A third-generation farmer, he took pride in being a good steward of the land, farming his entire life. Kind, generous, and a good neighbor, he enjoyed hunting and being in the mountains as well as flying. A skilled mechanic, he rebuilt a 57' chevy from the ground up and his own plane from scratch. He was excellent at dominos and loved to play with family and friends. His smile could light up a room. He found joy in food and delighted in cooking for others. Bob loved the Lord, and his Salem Baptist Church family. Fellowship dinners after church, were very special to him. "Papo" was happy and loved to joke around. His grandkids knew he loved them, and they loved him too. He could often be seen at high school and college games watching his children and grandchildren compete. Ever the loyal Aggie supporter, he and Judy had basketball season tickets for 35 years. Bob leaves a legacy of honesty and integrity to those he is survived by, including his beloved wife, Judith; his children Bobby Berridge, Barbara Mitchell (Greg), Becky Motes (Erin); his grandchildren Alexandria Berridge, Preston Mitchell, Chelcy Chatwin (Jaron), Presley Motes (Danica), Kelly Motes, and Taylor Graciano (Saul); and his great-grandchildren Luke Mitchell, Emma Mitchell, Adaline Chatwin, and Matix Motes. He also leaves behind a sister Helen, brother Jerry, beloved cousin Larry, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Grace Berridge, and a grandson Joseph Berridge. Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, August 21st, at Salem Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Salem Baptist Church in Memory of Bob Berridge. Gifts will support the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. Shopping for, and filling the shoeboxes was a project Bob looked forward to with joy each November.
