CMSGT Robert E. Dunn USAF (Ret.) age 89, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on August 10, 2021 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. Bob is preceded in passing by his wife Lila Dunn, son David Dunn, Parents Woodson and Edna Dunn and Siblings Agnes Sutcliffe, Ronnie Dunn, Bill Dunn and George Dunn. CMSGT Robert E. Dunn USAF (Ret.) age 89, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on August 10, 2021 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. Bob is preceded in passing by his wife Lila Dunn, son David Dunn, Parents Woodson and Edna Dunn and Siblings Agnes Sutcliffe, Ronnie Dunn, Bill Dunn and George Dunn. Bob was the Oldest of ten children. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Dunn, granddaughters Rachel Carter and Shayna Mavis and great grandchildren Leah Velarde, Chloe Schans, Scarlett Mavis and Wyatt Mavis. There are five surviving siblings, Johnnie Dunn, Jay Dunn, Mary Nanfito, Patty Shalbert, and Nora Carlson. Born in Arrow Rock, Mo on March 31, 1932 Bob grew up in Omaha, NE. He joined the Air Force and after basic training in San Antoni, Tx, he trained to be an airplane mechanic (B-29 and P-47) in Pasadena, CA. There he met Lila Marie Crawford and they were married in Glendale, CA., Later he retrained in missile maintenance (atlas, titan and minuteman) and retired at Ellsworth AFB, SD. In retirement, Bob and Lila enjoyed many trips all over the southwest. Baseball was Bob's sport and the St. Louis Cardinals his Team. He was a member of the American Legion for 56 years. A special thank you to all the compassionate men and women who took care of Bob. A Memorial service and burial with military honors will be held in North Platte, NE.
