Robert G. Marquardt, 76, of Las Cruces joined his beloved wife Johanna on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born May 9, 1934 in Sebewaing, MI. to Franz and Helene Marquardt. He was a retired police officer from Detroit, MI. after 30 years of faithful service. He was a missionary builder in New Guinea during the 1950's. Robert G. Marquardt, 76, of Las Cruces joined his beloved wife Johanna on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born May 9, 1934 in Sebewaing, MI. to Franz and Helene Marquardt. He was a retired police officer from Detroit, MI. after 30 years of faithful service. He was a missionary builder in New Guinea during the 1950's. He was a very active member of Mission Lutheran Church and gave freely of his time to the soup kitchen of Las Cruces. Robert was also an avid stamp collector and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two daughters Vicki Marquardt of Woodland, CA, and Lisa James and husband Paul of Columbia, S.C. and by two grandsons Jesse and Zachary James. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Frank. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 11am on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Mission Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Carabotta officiating.
