Robert Marcelo "Bobby" Morales, 78, passed from this life on February 15, 2015. Bobby was born November 8, 1936 to Marcelo and Adelaida McGran Morales in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He graduated from Las Cruces Union High School in 1954. He and several friends served in the US Army in the Chicago area. After completing his service, Bobby returned to Las Cruces where he eventually went to work at White Sands Missile Range. Bobby retired from WSMR as an Engineering Technician with over 40 years combined federal service. Bobby was one of 2 children. He married Mona Lemon on April 21, 1978. Their blended family included 5 sons and a daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mona; his son Robert "Robbie" Morales and his granddaughter Micayla Quintana. He is survived by his sister, Mary Esther Morales-Trujillo; his children, Anthony "Tony" Morales, Mark Quintana (Karri), Michael "Mike" Quintana (Saundra), Anna Morales and David Morales; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bobby was an avid golfer. He loved to garden and take care of the yard. He had a special fondness for dogs. Bobby had a host of cherished friends and served as a mentor to many over the course of many years. He loved his family and friends and will always be remembered for his offbeat sense of humor, his dry wit and his wing tipped shoes. A funeral liturgy will be held, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Getz Funeral Home.
