Robert J. Moan (Bob), 88, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on May 6, 2015 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 28, 1926 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Edward and Edna Moan. Robert J. Moan (Bob), 88, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on May 6, 2015 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 28, 1926 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Edward and Edna Moan. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Moan and his dear brothers Paul D., Edward A. and William F. Moan. He is survived by many nephews, nieces and close friends. Bob served during World War II in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Boston College on a baseball scholarship and later was signed by the New York Yankees as a pitcher. After a career ending injury, Bob worked for General Dynamics until retirement. Bob moved to Las Cruces in 1991. He was an avid golfer and a member of Picacho Hills Country Club. He made many friends, never met a stranger and was typically the life of the party. He fancied himself as a true Irish singer and would sing Danny Boy at the drop of a hat. At Bobs request there will be no services. A private celebration of Bob's Life will be held by his closest friends at a future date. PDF Printable Version
