Roberto C. Avalos, 77, of La Mesa, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006. He was born March 13, 1929 in Berino, NM to Angel and Manuela Avalos. He had been retired from W.S.M.R. after many years of faithful service. Roberto loved the outdoors, hunting fishing and was a big fan of the L.A. Dodger's. Roberto C. Avalos, 77, of La Mesa, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006. He was born March 13, 1929 in Berino, NM to Angel and Manuela Avalos. He had been retired from W.S.M.R. after many years of faithful service. Roberto loved the outdoors, hunting fishing and was a big fan of the L.A. Dodger's. Roberto will also be remember by many a member of the La Mesa Blue Jays Baseball Team. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons George Dominguez of San Miguel, Robert Avalos Jr. Ruben Avalos and wife Frances all of San Pablo, Frankie "El Sapito"Avalos and wife Susie of Las Cruces; daughters Margie Reyes of San Miguel, Gloria Avalos and companion Howard Randles of Las Cruces, Vivian Orosco and husband Ruben of San Miguel and Connie Avalos and David Jacquez of Anthony, NM; sister Celia Torres and husband Arturo of Albuquerque, NM. Roberto is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. Avalos was preceded in death by his loving wife Romelia, brothers Enrique and Angel Avalos, sisters Anita Avalos, Emma Sanchez and daughter-in-law Mary Dominguez. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Monday, October 2, 2006 at San Miguel Catholic Church where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at San Miguel Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at the San Miguel Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
