Rodolfo "Rudy" Apodaca entered eternal rest on December 9, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Rudy was born to Refugio and Francisca Apodaca on October 25, 1934, in Hurley, New Mexico and graduated high school in Silver City, New Mexico. He retired in 1989 from White Sands Missile Range after thirty-five years of service. He is survived by his wife Mary Apodaca of forty wonderful years....

Rodolfo "Rudy" Apodaca entered eternal rest on December 9, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Rudy was born to Refugio and Francisca Apodaca on October 25, 1934, in Hurley, New Mexico and graduated high school in Silver City, New Mexico. He retired in 1989 from White Sands Missile Range after thirty-five years of service. He is survived by his wife Mary Apodaca of forty wonderful years. He has six daughters; Barbara Apodaca of, Las Cruces, NM; Sylvia Bustamante and her husband Danny of, Las Cruces, NM; Carmen Putman and husband Daniel of Friona, TX; Kathy Apodaca of Las Cruces, NM; Yvonne Cabrales and husband Jacob of Las Cruces, NM. Rudy had eleven grandchildren: Rafael, James, Nancy, Francisca, Joey, Mandy, Daniel, Johnny Ray, Desiree, Darian and Alijah and nine great-grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather. Serving as Pallbearers will be James Thompson, Joey Thompson, Johnny Ray Baca, Rafael Araiza, Daniel Bustamante and Jacob Cabrales. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Mabel Thompson of San Antonio, TX. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and going to Las Vegas. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1119 and the Moose Lodge # 2081 for many years. He volunteered numerous hours helping the elderly and low-income with free income tax preparation. Rudy will be remembered for his generosity and playful attitude. He didn't hesitate to help anyone with a simple gesture and/or hard work. Rudy opened his heart and home to anyone who was in need and he will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday December 12, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home, with a prayer vigil to follow at 7PM. The funeral mass will be held on December 13, 2007, at the Immaculate Heart Of Mary Cathedral at 10AM, with burial to follow at Masonic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
