Roger Barrett, 63 years old of Las Cruces, NM passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 at Mesilla Valley Hospice - La Posada after a long illness. Roger was born December 22, 1942 in Brighton, New York. He was a resident of Las Cruces for the past five years and a former resident of Denver, CO. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge 1119 and was retired from Local 79 Painters & Drywall finishers Union in Denver Co. Surviving are his wife Suzanne Barrett; one son, Luke Barrett and his wife Julie of Tacoma, WA: two stepsons, Ronald and Jeffrey Lord of upstate New York, and one stepdaughter, Eileen Rizzo also of upstate New York. One brother, William Barrett of upstate New York, two sisters, Anne Eldred of North Carolina and Martha Groth of Florida. His mother-in-law Margaret Dietrich, cousin Betty Lou, three grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him. At Roger's request, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Denver, CO.
