Ronald "Ron" A. Key, 26, of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at Mesilla Valley La Posada after a short illness. Ron was born Feb. 16, 1980 in Las Cruces to Steven and Michele Key. Ron was a Back of the House Manager for the Texas Roadhouse, a chef, a poet and a lover of life. Ronald "Ron" A. Key, 26, of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at Mesilla Valley La Posada after a short illness. Ron was born Feb. 16, 1980 in Las Cruces to Steven and Michele Key. Ron was a Back of the House Manager for the Texas Roadhouse, a chef, a poet and a lover of life. He enjoyed cooking, hockey, baseball, racing his firebird and hanging out with his sister and friends. Ron was always willing to help someone else and leaves behind a legacy of love and helping. He will be forever deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. Survivors include his sister, Rachel Key, his parents Steve and Michele and his girlfriend Bridget Barreras. Other survivors include his paternal grandparents Charles and Norma Key; uncles and aunts Ron and Tana Sammons, Myke and Dale Sammons and Pam and Keith Bridges; God Nephew Khylige Stewart and his mother Marquita Stewart and by many cousins and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Tom and Anna Sammons. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 also at Getz Funeral Home where a celebration of Ron's life will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joel Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Ron's family and friends.
