Rose B. Riggs, 98, of Arrey, left to be with her heavenly father on Monday, August 28, 2006 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. Rose was born December 25, 1907 in Vulcon, Michigan to Joseph and Celestina Franzoy. From there they moved to New Mexico where she met and married Fred S. Riggs. Rose B. Riggs, 98, of Arrey, left to be with her heavenly father on Monday, August 28, 2006 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. Rose was born December 25, 1907 in Vulcon, Michigan to Joseph and Celestina Franzoy. From there they moved to New Mexico where she met and married Fred S. Riggs. They had 49 years together when he preceded her in death in 1978. Rose never missed a service in the little Church in Garfield, NM where she was a charter member. She was known as Grandma Rose to all of the Hatch Valley who knew and loved her, she will forever be missed. Together, Rose and Fred S. Riggs had four children; sons Ernest Riggs, Freddie and wife Betty Riggs, two daughters, Dorothy and husband Lonnie Gillis, Mary and Dencil Gillis. Three brothers, Alex, Charlie, and Fred Franzoy of Salem, NM; two sisters, Fannie Fragale of Milwaukee and June Rutherford of Salem, NM She also is survived by 16 grandchildren Wayne Riggs, Rosetta Jeter, Sherry, Sue, Gary, Les, Vance Riggs, Dan, Mike, David Gillis and Debbie Porter, Duane and Dale Gillis, Dottie Dallas and Brenda Russell; also surviving are great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and two very special family friends Francisco and Paula Reyes. Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred, three brothers, Albert, Joe and Frank Franzoy, sister Irene Riggs, grandson Freddie Paul Riggs, her parents Joseph and Celestina Franzoy. The Funeral Services will be at 10 AM on Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Garfield Pentecostal Church with Rev. Joe Jordan and Rev. Lavon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, New Mexico. Serving, as pallbearers will be Wayne Riggs, Gary Don Riggs, Dan Gillis, Duane Gillis, Les Riggs, and Mike Gillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Vance Riggs, David Gillis, Dale Gillis, and Francisco Reyes.
