Roy Dale Pennock, 90, of Las Cruces, NM passed peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Casa De Oro Health Care Center with family by his side. Roy was born November 16, 1919 in Kenton, Oklahoma to William and Bertha Pennock. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate 1st class. Roy Dale Pennock, 90, of Las Cruces, NM passed peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Casa De Oro Health Care Center with family by his side. Roy was born November 16, 1919 in Kenton, Oklahoma to William and Bertha Pennock. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate 1st class. Roy spent most his life in Clayton, NM working as a Pharmacist then moving to Las Cruces in 1970. While in Las Cruces he ran the Target Gas Station on Solano for many years before retiring at the age of 84. Roy is survived by his wife Carla of Las Cruces; one son Roy Pennock, Jr of Las Cruces and one daughter, Gaylene Hooper and her husband Jamie of Las Cruces. Also surviving Roy are three grandchildren, Sean Pennock, Justin Stevens, and Samantha Hooper and nine great grandchildren, Aden and Colin Pennock; Kevin Stevens; Emily and Chelsea Hooper; Sheila and John Alberson; Andrew and Richard Costello; and his nieces (Karin and Lynn) and nephews (Tony, Kelly, Carl, and Richie). He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Bill and one sister, Wilma Halverson. At Roy's request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. His ashes will be interred at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery also on Monday, at 2 pm. PDF Printable Version
