Ruby Ruth Clark, NP April 10, 1933 - May 21, 2020 Ruth Clark, 87, went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2020. She was born in the Ozarks of Missouri and lived the majority of her life in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. The daughter of a bootlegger, Ruth was raised "scrappy" and fought for everything she had. She left home at age 16, survived polio at age 18, and landed in El Paso, Texas in her early 20s. Ruth began her career as an LPN at Thomason General Hospital (now, University Medical Center of El Paso). She then worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital while taking courses to become an RN in 1964. Steadily pursuing her dreams, Ruth became a member of one of the first graduating classes of Family Practice Nurse Practitioners at University of New Mexico. Ruth worked at various hospitals and clinics throughout the area for over 30 years. She was known for being tenderhearted and going above and beyond for her patients. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married William (Bill) Mayhall in 1957, and they adopted two children together. After parting ways, Ruth married the "love of her life" Billie E. Clark, at a chapel in Las Vegas in 1991. They shared 11 years together before he passed away in 2002. Ruth is lovingly survived by daughter Ruth Rice, son Bill Mayhall, and granddaughter Sarah Bomar.
