Rudolph A. Durio, 93, of Las Cruces died on Tuesday April 4, 2006. He was born to Sarah and Rudolph Durio on November 11, 1912, in Shreve Port, Louisiana. He had been a member of the Aztec Lodge #3 AF&AM and the Shrine for over 50 years. While in the Shrine he was a member of the Desert Patrol, a Jester as well as an Ambassador to the Potentate, he was also a past president of the Las Cruces Shrine Club. He was a Chemist with the Santa Rita Mines in Silver City, NM and was an avid hunter and member of the Game Protection Assoc. Rudolph was also a Charter Member of the J.C.'s and the 20-30 Club. He loved baseball, but was probably better known to all as the owner of Durio's Body Shop of Las Cruces. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rudolph is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 67 years, sons Rudolph E. Durio and Robert A. Durio; daughters Sarah (Salle) Osborne and Nanette Olhausen; grandchildren Vicki Osborne, Todd Olhausen, Michael Olhausen, Laura Wood, Rebecca Lynn Durio, Robert A. Durio Jr, Charity F. Durio and Anthony W. Durio. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rudolph was preceded in death by his brother Jack N. Durio and sister Frances Lair. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday April 6, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. Memorial Services are at 2:00 PM on Saturday April 7, 2006 at the Las Cruces Shrine Club. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Transportation Fund.
