Rudy Denman Mosley was born January 4, 1944 in Socorro New Mexico to Luther R. Mosley and Mary E. Graves. He passed away February 1, 2008 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He attended elementary school in Fairacres and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1963. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in the first infantry division in Vietnam where he earned three purple hearts and a bronze star. He married his "little Barbie doll", Jo Schulte in 1968. They went on to spend the next 40 years together raising a family. He opened Mosley's Truck Brokerage in 1969 and it is still in operation today. During that time, he was involved in several other business ventures. In his leisure time he enjoyed reading, horse racing, gardening, antiquing, restoring classic cars, coin collecting, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He especially loved seeing his grandchildren. If a day went by with out seeing them, he would call to find out why they had not come to visit. He was a man possessing a heart of gold and two hard working hands. He believed in helping others in any way he could. He lived by the idea that anything you could do to help someone else out, would come back to him ten fold. He felt that giving someone your word should be more binding than anything on paper. His word was his bond. He did not expect anything from anyone, that he was not willing to do himself. He often said that the secret to a successful, happy marriage was two words: "Yes, dear". He was the "Papa Bear" of his entire extended family and his passing will leave a void that can not be filled. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jo, four children; Scott Mosley, Denage Harmeson, Kendra Taylor and her husband Bryan, and Tyson Mosley, all of Las Cruces. Papa will be sorely missed by his six grandchildren; Kelsey, Kolten, Kaitlyn, and Konnor Taylor, Audie (Grace) Harmeson, and Kylie Mosley. He left behind three brothers, Robert, Wayne, and Leonard Mosley and one sister, Debra Burma all of Las Cruces along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. A Viewing will be on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 5-7pm at Getz Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at Getz Funeral Home on February 5, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. PDF Printable Version
