Ruth May Jackson, 87 of Las Cruces, NM passed away Sunday October 7, 2007 at Mesilla Valley Hospice-La Posada. She was born August 24, 1920 in Hoxie, Kansas. Her parents were Bill and Dortha Glasnapp. Ruth was retired from the food service department at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Ruth May Jackson, 87 of Las Cruces, NM passed away Sunday October 7, 2007 at Mesilla Valley Hospice-La Posada. She was born August 24, 1920 in Hoxie, Kansas. Her parents were Bill and Dortha Glasnapp. Ruth was retired from the food service department at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. While in Albuquerque she was a member of Northdale Baptist Church and in Las Cruces a member of First Baptist Church of Las Cruces. Ruth is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joe of Las Cruces; five children, Rita Marmon and husband Dennis of Phoenix, AZ; Joanna Gonzales of Farmington, NM; Larry A. Jackson and wife Michele of Tucson, AZ, Bob Jackson and wife Connie of Scottsdale, AZ, and Fred Jackson and wife Leslie of Mesilla Park, NM. Also surviving Ruth are four brothers, Lloyd McAdams of Wickenburg, AZ; George McAdams and his wife Jennifer; John McAdams and wife Sharon and Harry McAdams and wife Donette all of Oregon, one sister Francis Svenson of Oregon, 10 grandchildren and two granddaughters. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Dortha Glasnapp, two sisters, Bertice Dooley and Stella Ring; a brother Jim McAdams and son in law, Fermin Gonzales. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Las Cruces, 106 S. Miranda. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
