Sadie J. Serna, 91, of Las Cruces died Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born March 19, 1922 in Rincon, NM to Patricio and Gregoria Naranjo Jaramillo. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden and was a member of many different organizations in Las Cruces but she was better known as the owner of Serna's Grocery Store. Sadie J. Serna, 91, of Las Cruces died Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born March 19, 1922 in Rincon, NM to Patricio and Gregoria Naranjo Jaramillo. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden and was a member of many different organizations in Las Cruces but she was better known as the owner of Serna's Grocery Store. Sadie's passion was for her family who will forever love and miss her. She is survived by her two sons David Serna and wife Carmen and Ernie Serna all of Las Cruces; brothers Pat Jaramillo and wife Margie of Eureka, CA and Johnny Jaramillo and wife Ninfa of Las Cruces; sisters Betty Soto and husband George, Mickie Chavez and Mary Bulger and husband Tom all of Las Cruces. Also surviving her are her 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Sadie was preceded in death by her son Ernest and brothers Luis and Ray. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with the Augustinian Recollects officiating. Rite of Committal for her cremains will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
