Salvador A. Rel, 65, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. Sal as he was fondly known was born April 21, 1946 in Las Cruces to Lorenzo and Cesaria Archuleta Rel. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He also retired from Lockheed at NASA with more than 18 years of faithful service. Salvador A. Rel, 65, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. Sal as he was fondly known was born April 21, 1946 in Las Cruces to Lorenzo and Cesaria Archuleta Rel. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He also retired from Lockheed at NASA with more than 18 years of faithful service. Sal enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and softball but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Yolanda Rel of the family home; sons Ronnie Rel of Albuquerque, NM, Mario Rel and wife Marcella and Ricky Rel and wife Vanesa all of Las Cruces; brothers Lorenzo, Rudy and Ramon Rel; sisters Mary Carmen, Jean, Sally, Connie and Teresa; grandchildren Michael, Amanda, Alyssia, Andres, Briana, Adriana, Aubree, Aytza and Alyna. Sal was preceded in death by his grandson Angel, parents, Brothers Juan, Raymundo and Ismael and by sister Cesaria. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 also at Getz Funeral Home with military honors. PDF Printable Version
