It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and friend,Salvador G Lopez "Chava", 93, On Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. Chava was born on March 3, 1923 to Abundio and Maria Lopez in Jalisco, Mexico, and came to the United States as a "brazero" in 1962. Chava was preceded in death by his first wife Maria Del Refugio, his second wife Maria Del Refugio in 1988, and his daughter Lupe in 2010. He is survived by his 3rd wife Rosalinda Lopez of Las Cruces; his daughters Maria Del Refugio and husband Trino Villareal of Las Cruces; Teresa Lopez of Las Cruces, Irene and husband Javier Marrufo of Mexico , Maria Elena Salazar of Las Cruces, Maria Perez and partner Juan Gomez of Las Cruces, Imelda Lopez of Las Cruces, Zenaida Lopez of Albert Kansas, son Jose and wife Diana Lopez of Las Cruces, and daughter Magnolia and husband David Borunda of Las Cruces. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren: Cynthia, Rocio, Martha, Juan Francisco, and Uriel Marrufo; Jaime and Israel Villareal; Christian, Juan Antonio, and Noel Perez; Edward, Shawna, and Luis Guerra; Azalea and Amber Salazar; Allan, Bryan, and AlexSandra Vasquez; Thomas and Zachary Borunda; Manny and Robert Lopez. As well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday May 3, 2016 at St Genevieve's Catholic Church, with inurnment to follow.
