Sonny Saiz passed on July 3, 2023, in Las Cruces, NM, with his family by his side. Sonny was born on January 1, 1962, in Carlsbad, NM, to Salvador and Alice Saiz. In 1983, Sonny enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he was able to travel the world until being honorably discharged in 1987. Sonny then graduated from NMSU with his HVAC degree. Sonny worked many jobs throughout his life but ended his career at New Mexico State University Facilities and Services in 2023. Sonny was an avid reader, and a jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to his colleagues and friends and enjoyed spending time with his family. Sonny is survived by his mother Alice, Brother Jeff Saiz (Lupe), sister Krystal Simmonds (Isaac), eight nephews, four nieces, and many uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his father Salvador Saiz Sr. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 14th, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces, NM. Rosary 10:30 AM and Mass 11 AM. Service Information
