Sam Vaskov was born June 20, 1940. He lived a wonderful and rewarding life till his death on January 18, 2007. The son of Kathryn and Milan Vaskov, both Serbian immigrants, he was raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico together with his older sister Olga and younger brother Milan. Sam graduated from New Mexico State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering before serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for TransWorld Airlines for nearly 25 years, serving as the airlines Director of Properties and Facilities while based in Kansas City, Missouri. Later in his professional career, he owned his own contracting business in Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked as the project manager for many large airport construction projects worldwide - including, projects in Athens, Seoul, Toronto, and most recently in Sudan. Sam's greatest love in life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharron; daughter Laurie, and her husband Mike Snell and their children Charlie and Oscar of Kansas City Missouri; daughter Julie, and her husband Curtis Cole and their children Conner and Hayden of Dallas, Texas; daughter Melissa, and her husband Mic Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas; son Nicholas, and his wife Tiffany and their children Megan, Amanda and Benjamin of Henderson, Nevada; brother Milan Vaskov and his wife Lynda of Las Cruces; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends throughout the world The family would like to invite everyone that knew Sam to visit a memorial tribute celebrating his life at www.Vaskov.com PDF Printable Version
