Sandra S. Marricle, 61, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. Sandy as she was fondly known was born March 26, 1951 in Middleburgh, NY to Vernon and Betty Rienhart Schanz Jr. Sandy had been an elementary school teacher and a test co-coordinator with the Las Cruces Public School System with many years of faithful service. She was a member of Mesilla Park Community Church, enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, reading, music and dancing but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 28 years C.O. Marricle of the family home; sons Joel Philo (wife) Susan of Frisco, TX, Travis Marricle (Ari) of Denver, CO and Michael Marricle (Anna)of Ft. Collins, CO; daughters Christa Graham and Charli Marricle (Chris) all of Colorado Springs, CO, Randi Marricle of Denver, CO and Stephanie "Sam" Marricle of Las Cruces; father Vernon Schanz Jr. of Las Cruces and her six grandsons Dorian, Isaac, Dylan, Garrett, Toby and Xander. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Betty Schanz, her stillborn son David Christian Philo and her brother Gordon. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 AM on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate her life will follow at 10 AM with Rev. Dennis Diaz of Mesilla Park Community Church officiating. At Sandy's request cremation will take place after services. The honor of being an honorary pallbearer will go to her family and friends.
