Sarah G. Gonzales, 91, of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday January 13, 2010 at her home. She was born November 27, 1918 in Las Cruces to Jose and Cruz Garcia. Sarah was a life long resident and member of the St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. She enjoyed being outdoors taking camping trips, or working in her garden. Sarah G. Gonzales, 91, of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday January 13, 2010 at her home. She was born November 27, 1918 in Las Cruces to Jose and Cruz Garcia. Sarah was a life long resident and member of the St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. She enjoyed being outdoors taking camping trips, or working in her garden. Sarah was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 3242. Her happiest times though were spent at the many family gatherings she attended and hosted. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her nine sons, Frank and wife Eufracia of Little Rock, CA; Jimmy and wife Mary Helen of Las Cruces, NM; Eduardo and wife Pamela of Upland, CA; Paul and wife Emma, Raymond, Alberto and wife Angie, Andy and wife Shirley, Walter and wife Lorinda, and Cruz all of Las Cruces, NM; three daughters, Betty Gonzales of Santa Teresa, NM; Alice Gonzales of Mexico; and Victoria Gonzales of Portland, OR. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank and many brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held Monday January 18, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Getz Funeral Home followed by a prayer vigil at 7 PM also at Getz. The funeral mass will be given Tuesday January 19, 2010 at 10 AM at the St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. The rite of committal will follow at the St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
