Saul F. Benavidez

Saul F. Benavidez, 89, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born Sept. 9, 1922 in La Mesa, NM to Apolonario and Adela Flores Benavidez. Saul had been a retired mail carrier at WSMR with many years of faithful service. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, farming and hunting but his passion was for his family who will forever love and miss him. He is survived by his three sons Juan Benavidez of El Paso, TX, Eduardo "Lalo" Benavidez and wife Bea and Ivan Benavidez all of Las Cruces and daughter Dora Apodaca of San Diego, CA. Also surviving him are many grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Saul was preceded in death by his loving wife Consuelo and a daughter Martha. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home. Saul's funeral mass to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at San Jose Catholic Church in La Mesa, NM with Fr. Rogelio Martinez officiating. Rite of Committal will be at the La Mesa Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer will go to Saul's family and friends. PDF Printable Version
