Sean Martin Bishop of Radium Springs, NM was received by our Good Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Diane and Leith Bishop in Sierra Vista, AZ on October 27, 1987. He passed away in Las Cruces, NM at the age of 34 years old. He is survived by his mom, Diane Bishop of Radium Springs, NM, two loving sisters, Lela Bishop of Radium Springs, and Kelsey Bishop Nussbaum (Bob) of Las Cruces, NM, grandparents Hugh and Jeanne Bishop of Gila, NM, grandmother, Maria C. Laurent of Las Cruces, NM and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Leith Martin Bishop and grandfather, Louis Frances Laurent. Sean graduated from Mayfield High School in May of 2006. He studied at New Mexico State University. In 2012 he moved to Morenci, AZ to work for Freeport-McMoran, Inc. He began working as an Apprentice Lineman in 2019 and received his Journeyman Lineman Certification in May of 2020 while working at IBEW 611. His work took him throughout the United States to work on lines to restore electricity for people who had lost power during storms and natural disasters. Through his work he was able to fulfill his passion to travel and desire to help others. Sean was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He had a heart of gold and touched the lives of many people he came in contact with. He inspired and mentored others through his example. He loved riding his horses, hunting, fishing and dancing. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing jokes on his mom, sisters, aunties, cousins, and friends. Services are scheduled for Monday, February 21, 2022. A viewing will be held at 9:30 AM at Getz Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM immediately followed by a Mass for the Departed, officiated by Father Theo and Deacon Lonnie Briceno, at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana, NM. The services will be streamed through getzfuneralhome@getzcares.com. and Facebook. Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date.
