Sherry Lynn Hatfield, 55, of Las Cruces, NM, went to the lord, Sunday, July 22, 2007. She passed away peacefully at Memorial Medical Center. Sherry was born February 28, 1952 in Electra, TX to Charles and Etna Wilkins. She Graduated from San Mateo High School, San Mateo, CA. Sherry also graduated from San Mateo College and New York College with degrees in business. She also studied four years of Latin and was knowledgeable in several languages. While in Texas, California and New York, Sherry was a model. She was also involved in a computer programming business, while in California, for corporate banks and businesses. Sherry had a true love and gift for Archaeology. She received the State of New Mexico Historic Preservation Award, from the governor in 1994. She worked for the New Mexico Office of Archaeology Studies, and was involved in management, field projects and public relations. Sherry later met her one true love, Don Hatfield, and the two were married on September 9, 1988. Sherry is survived by her loving husband Don Hatfield, of the family home, mother, Etna Noe of Wichita Falls, TX, brothers, Mike Wilkins, of Wichita Falls, TX, Mark Wilkins, of Electra, TX, one sister, Julie Moreland, of Grapevine, TX, three aunts, Greta Limon of Electra, TX, Sybel Brown, of Cherry Valley, CA, Beth Oldstrom, of Bloomington, IN, one uncle, Bob Noe of Midland, TX, six nieces and three nephews. Her father Charles E. Wilkins preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for friends and family to contribute to a charity of their choice. A memorial service will take place on at 10:00 A.M., Saturday July 28, 2007, at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. PDF Printable Version
