Shirley E. Dundon, 80, of Las Cruces, died Friday, September 11, 2009. She was born June 4, 1929, in Massilon, Ohio, to William and Emma Buechling. Shirley was instrumental in the development of the Las Alturas community, and was a founder of the local Unitarian Church and the Las Cruces Aquatic Team. Shirley E. Dundon, 80, of Las Cruces, died Friday, September 11, 2009. She was born June 4, 1929, in Massilon, Ohio, to William and Emma Buechling. Shirley was instrumental in the development of the Las Alturas community, and was a founder of the local Unitarian Church and the Las Cruces Aquatic Team. She was well known and touched many lives through her work with La Clinica de Familia and the Adolescent Family Life Program in Las Cruces, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a musician and a lifelong supporter of the Arts. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her five children, Merrie Lee Soules, William Soules and wife Theresa, David Soules and wife Nancy, all of Las Cruces, Steve Dundon and wife Debra of Anderson, SC, and Nancy Broge and husband Jim of Plymouth, MN; sister Ruth Grove and husband Ray of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Kevin, Greg, Keith, Tim, Leslie, Brad and Erika. Also surviving her is her former husband Jack Soules and his wife Shirl of Las Cruces. Mrs. Dundon was preceded in death by her loving husband William Dundon. At her request, cremation has taken place and private memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to La Clinica de Familia, 1100 S.
