She was born March 19, 1929 in Mesilla, NM to Simon Martinez and Manuela Aleman Martinez. She met the love of her life Rosalio Melon in 1946 and they wed in 1948. They had 6 wonderful children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her...

Simona Martinez Melon 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April, 30, 2021.
She was born March 19, 1929 in Mesilla, NM to Simon Martinez and Manuela Aleman Martinez. She met the love of her life Rosalio Melon in 1946 and they wed in 1948. They had 6 wonderful children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son David Melon and several siblings. She is survived by her sister Marylou Houston, brother Jose Martinez, children Bertha Melon, Leo Melon Jr (Rita), Martha Alvarado, Lora Alvarez, Terry Melon, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 5-7pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral services will take place Thursday May 6 , 2021 at 10am at St. Genevieve Church. Followed by burial services at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Leo Melon III, Joe Melon, Domenick Diaz, Jared Arroyos, Ruben Neri and Rigo Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers are Jennifer Alvarez, Bryanna Molina, Leann Melon, Christine Alvarado, Denise Ramirez and Jasmine Molina
Due to Covid restrictions only 20 people will be allowed in the Chapel at a time
